François FLORY, Engineer from ENSPM , Ph.D., CES in neurophysiology

François FLORY held several research positions at the Centre d'Etude des Couches Minces from 1976 to 1979, before becoming a research engineer at the Société Française d'Equipement pour la Navigation Aérienne (Thalès Avionics) up until 1984. He has taught as professor at ENSPM, the Marseille Graduate Engineering School (EGIM) and more recently at the prestigious Ecole Centrale in Marseille. François FLORY is Vice-Chairman and secretary of the French National Optics and Photonics Committee. He was also appointed as Director of Centrale Marseille Research & Technology (CMRT) in 2006. He is the author of more than 200 articles, books, patents and conference papers, as well as acting as expert and reporter for several international journals and the French National Research Agency (ANR). He is a regular feature on scientific committees and has served as chairman at numerous conferences.

Emmanuel CLAVIER, Engineer from SUPELEC

In the industry, Emmanuel CLAVIER started out as an R&D engineer for La Radiotechnique (Philips) in 1982, before moving onto the Thomson Group (Angers, France) in 1984. He worked as Design Office Manager at Orega (Thomson, Gray, France) from 1985 to 1987 and then as Project Manager for Cheval Frères SA (Besançon, France) from 1987 to 1989. Emmanuel CLAVIER was also an electronics professor at the French National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM) in Angers. He joined the Marseille Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIMP) in 1989 as research engineer as part of the European programme EUROLASER. He worked as professor/engineer at ESIM from 1992 to 1994 where he provided expertise and set up industrial contracts for the Centre de Développement Technologique Mécatronique (CETEGELEC). In 1994, he created the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (CEM), which he continues to manage. The laboratory provides expertise and compliance assessments to meet European standards. His activities in this field were rewarded with the “Developing the Economy” AGIR prize.
